The letter below from the factory to one of it's dealers dated February 17, 1931 describes a new "Sport Model" with chrome plated "English sport design" handlebars and chrome plated oil pump cover, tail pipe, generator end cap (commutator cover), horn front, headlight rim and tank caps, and includes cadmium plated rims.

It is common belief that chromium bright work did not appear until the 1931 models.
